Description:
The Designer is responsible for the discipline design of small- and medium-scale project systems
and components during Schematic Design, Design Development, and Construction Document
Phases according to the requirements of the project scope of work and organization’s design
standards.
The Designer provides successful designs, plans, specifications, and construction administration
for the organization according to the strategic direction and organizational standards set by the
Directorial Team by doing the following:
• Provide design for the Design Development, Construction Document, and Construction
Phases of the project
• Work with drafting team for setups, updates, and completion of redlines
• Prepare the required calculations and code evaluations for review by the Engineer
• Create the drawing package and written documents per contract scope and
deliverable guidelines
• Package documents for submission to the client for deliverables.
• Attend project meetings
• Coordinate with architects and other consultants in a timely and professional manner
• Follow discipline standards per the design manual
• Follow drafting standards per the design manual
• Coordinate with admin staff for project admin needs and ensures tasks are completed
per the admin manual
• Resolve any discrepancies with signing Engineer
• Maintain proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit
• Assist with responses to submittals, RFI’s, and shop drawings promptly with review by
Engineer before responding
• Attend discipline site observation visits and assist in the preparation of reports
• Train the Junior Design staff to empower and advance their knowledge in design and
calculations for the plans and specifications
• Provide quality customer service, including interacting with customers, answering
customer inquiries, and effectively handling customer complaints
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops;
reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in
professional societies
Skills:
Revit, Electrical Design, Autocad, MEP
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
-5-7 years of experience
-AutoCAD and Revit experience
-Must have Commercial experience
-Ability to run with project from start to finish
-Experience managing a team
